38 Weeks and Counting

The eviction notice has been served! Time to come out, Baby! I am ready to be done being pregnant but not so ready to go through labor. Is there any way around that?

Well, aren't you just about the cutest pregnant woman ever! Congratulations on the 2-week countdown to the end.

Oh, my dear, dear Katie. You are so beautiful. SO BEAUTIFUL.

And knowing your whole story...so beautiful.

I'm so tempting to run away to MN.

You look great!

My answer to the horrors (or at least the pain) of delivery was an epidural, but I know that isn't everyone's preference. (I know it doesn't always work, either, and I can't imagine what I will do if it ever doesn't for me!)

Sending you lots of easy labor vibes for when the time comes!

It's called a planned c-section. But I think good old labor would be better :). So soon - yay!

I can't believe you're almost done. Will you miss it at all? And upon reading this post again, I noticed it claims you posted at 1:40am. Seriously?

Yes, I do my posting in the middle of the night. I have to get up and take medicine and have a snack. My baby might be able to sleep all night without eating but I can't.

It's the only quiet time I have without a toddler hanging off by elbow since I need a nap in the afternoon just as much as the girls do.

Just a note of encouragement -- labor may not be something to look forward to in a giddy sort of way, and as far as I know, there's no way around some seriously hard work, but still... I'm still kind of on a high from Reuben's labor last summer. I had no idea laboring could be so not-miserable. :) It hurt. It was hard work. But it was so *good.* And as you know, I didn't have anything (besides my Matt and Michele E.) to help me through it.

All that to say, don't get too apprehensive. You never know what you're going to get until it happens, and then you'll get to hold your newest baby! Wow! What a pile of blessings have been poured out upon your family in the last few years!

Waiting excitedly with you...

Hi Katie, just checking in to see if there are any new things to see--sorry to hear you are so sick, hopefully you will feel better soon.

with your upcoming labor, it made me think how much i was dreading the hurting part too--the last two were water births, which helped, but i think i delayed and avoided the discomfort for quite a while, until realizing this baby won't get out until i get over that--and finally i did, and things progressed fine. you will do fine! you are strong and a great mom, so be confident in your intuition, ability and strength!! as far as afterward, i agree with the lady above--i felt SO triumphant, so strong, really ready to face the world--i love that :) Enjoy your experience!!
God bless!!
